goodbye lovely weekend

I had such an amazing weekend! For anyone in Brisbane looking for a slightly indulgent weekend I can recommend with heart everything below!!

Kicked the weekend off with some much needed time out and relaxation at Aveda Spa in Brisbane City with the husband. We both indulged in 1.5-2hrs of treatments which included body scrubs, massages, hot stones and facials. We walked out so super refreashed!

We love Aveda because they use high performance, botanically based products that are better for both us and the planet - and everything smells natural and divine. We also love Aesop for the same reasons, but unfortunately they don't have a spa here in Brisbane as yet! Hopefully one day!

After we went for our usual saturday espresso at Cup Coffee in West End which was followed by a couple of share plates and two Australian craft beers at Archive Beer Boutique, also in West End.

Later in the afternoon we had our favorite people over to our place for a few drinks, before heading to Peasant at the Barracks for dinner to celebrate a friends birthday. And let me tell you, it was amazing!! You MUST try this place. Awesomely delish authentic Spanish influenced food with an amazing atmosphere and decor to match! Did i mention how good the Sangria is yet?? The sangria is reeeally good!

The only gripe I do have is that we went there for a couple of reasons but one of the deciding factors was that we had a couple of vegetarians with us and there was plenty of lovely vego options on offer. But when we arrived they had actually run out of most of the vego dishes :( Not that it was their fault as such, as it was extremely busy that night, but running out of a bunch of dishes by 8.30pm is not super awesome planning on their part.

I shall forgive however and we will just have to try again next time!

Sunday was a little more relaxed, it started off with one of the best breakfasts in Brisbane at Au Cirque in New Farm. You can easily pick a good breakfast spot in Brisbane based on the line up of people waiting to get in. Both Au Cirque & Gunshop Cafe in West End are never without a lineup of hungry people dying to get in ,,, and both are well worth the wait! (sorry about the crappy iphone pix! The Chowdown on top and Eggs Benedict with bacon below)

xx
